Plaintiffs in error, Bernard Clarence Lawson, Jr., and Dee Loren Pierce, hereinafter referred to as defendants, were jointly convicted by jury verdict of Illegal Possession of Narcotics (codiene) in the District Court of Oklahoma County, Case No. CRF-69-837, and each sentenced on September 19, 1969 to eight (8) years imprisonment (Appeal No. A-15,593).
