Robert Dotson was charged and tried on two counts of unlawfully transporting a falsely made, forged, altered or counterfeited security with fraudulent intent, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2314. Motions for judgment of acquittal were timely made upon the ground that the prosecution had failed to establish the requisite fraudulent intent. Both motions were denied, as was the motion for a new trial, which, inter alia, urged identical grounds. The case...
