BONEY, Chief Justice.

On May 9, 1968, a nine count indictment was filed in the superior court, Ketchikan, against Jimmy Freeman. The first five counts of the indictment charged Freeman with the statutory rape of his 13 year old step-daughter; the remaining four counts were for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and alleged that Freeman had engaged in indecent conduct toward several children, ranging in age from eleven to fifteen years.
