This is a suit on a contract executed April 24, 1961 by Thomas L. Carter, Artex Construction Company, Inc., Rockland Corporation, Alex W. Head, Ernest W. Bartlett, Jr., and Fred W. Moore. The plaintiff, Paine, sued to collect a $20,000.00 obligation plus interest and attorney's fees. A $30,000.00 note payable to the First City National Bank of Houston had been signed earlier by Ernest W. Bartlett, Jr. with Paine as co-signer. The note was for the...
