This is a class action under the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 (29 U.S.C. § 401 et seq.). The named plaintiff is a member of Lodge 1566, one of twenty-three locals of the defendant labor organization. While plaintiff's local has 216 members, one lodge has as few as nine and another as many as 354.
