This action arose out of an accident which occurred at 7:56 p. m., during daylight hours, on July 23, 1968, at the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Portland Avenue in Shreveport. Lakeshore Drive, a 4-lane principal thoroughfare, runs generally east and west and intersects and crosses Portland Avenue at right angles.
