OPINION

PAOLINO, Justice.

The defendant was tried before a justice of the Superior Court and a jury on an indictment charging him with the murder of his wife. The jury returned a verdict of guilty of murder in the second degree. The trial justice denied the defendant's motion for a new trial and sentenced him to a term of 26 years in the Adult Correctional Institutions. The case is here on the defendant's exceptions to certain evidentiary rulings.
