Defendant was tried and convicted under the Second Offender Act (§ 556.280, V.A. M.S.) on March 29, 1963, on a charge of rape and was sentenced to life imprisonment. On appeal that conviction was affirmed on June 8, 1964, in State v. Adams, Mo., 380 S.W.2d 362. Defendant then filed a motion to vacate judgment and sentence under Supreme Court Rule 27.26, V. A.M.R.
