In 1965 appellant was indicted for murder, aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery with intent to murder, assault and battery with intent to kill, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. On August 29, 1966, he pleaded guilty to murder generally. Following his degree of guilt hearing, he pleaded not guilty to the other charges and signed a waiver of his right to a jury trial.
