Appellant was charged by affidavit with the crime of theft, said affidavit reading in pertinent part as follows:

"(T)hat FRANK ALMON BUCKLEY on or about the 26th day of February A.D., 1969, at said County and State as affiant verily believes committed the crime of theft in that he knowingly, unlawfully and feloniously obtained and exerted unauthorized control over the property of GREAT SCOT SUPERMARKET...
