Samuel Cain was found guilty in a bench trial in the circuit court of Cook County of indecent liberties with a child and attempted rape. He was sentenced to the penitentiary for a term of 10 to 16 years on the indecent-liberties count and for a term of 10 to 14 years on the attempted-rape count.
