This action was instituted by Ava A. Cravens, joined by her husband, against Willie W. Elam seeking to recover damages for personal injuries. She alleged that she sustained injuries when an automobile driven by Elam negligently struck the rear of a motor vehicle in which she was riding as a passenger. Elam denied that the collision was the result of any act of negligence on his part but that the collision was the result of an unavoidable...
