Defendant was charged with the common-law rape of his 16-year-old stepdaughter. At arraignment, he pleaded not guilty. January 10, 1968, with his counsel present, defendant pleaded guilty to attempted rape. CLS 1961, § 750.520 (Stat Ann 1954 Rev § 28.788) and CL 1948, § 750.92 (Stat Ann 1962 Rev § 28.287).
