Wesley Grant appeals from the district court's denial of his motion to vacate judgment and sentence.1 We remand.2

The appellant contends that his conviction based on his plea of guilty is invalid because the Assistant United States Attorney3 misinformed him as to the maximum penalties involved,4 in the following colloquy:
