In 1956, George Nawrocki was convicted of uttering and publishing a forged check. In 1967, the Michigan Court of Appeals reversed Nawrocki's conviction and ordered a new trial. Thereafter, the prosecutor dismissed the charges by entering a nolle prosequi.
