On February 11, 1969, Leonard Lee Ward, the defendant in this criminal contempt proceeding, and Richard T. Hodges were jointly charged in a one-count indictment with knowingly transporting a stolen motor vehicle in interstate commerce from St. Louis, Missouri to New Orleans, Louisiana, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2312. On April 9, 1969 Ward pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced...
