Plaintiff, Gilbert Mead, suffered the loss of both legs as the result of an accident while driving a truck for defendant Peterson-King Company on November 5, 1961. U.S. Fidelity & Guaranty Company, the workmen's compensation insurance carrier for defendant Peterson-King, immediately commenced payments to plaintiff. Thereafter, plaintiff commenced suit against Associated Truck Lines alleging its responsibility for his injuries as a negligent third party...
