In this civil action instituted in the Court of Common Pleas of Kanawha County, the plaintiff, Reba Gillespie, seeks recovery of damages for injuries which she alleges she sustained in a fall on a sidewalk in the City of Charleston. Recovery is sought from the defendant, Union Mission Settlement, Inc., as the owner of the building adjoining the sidewalk upon which the plaintiff fell and from the City of Charleston.
