McVey sustained personal injuries as a result of a collision when the automobile in which she was riding was struck in the rear by a truck, owned by Harold Brown, d/b/a O'Brien Fuel Company, which was also proceeding in an easterly direction at the intersection of Cicero Avenue and Peterson Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
