On November 5, 1968, a special election was conducted by the appellee, in conjunction with the general election, at which the issue of annexing a contiguous 720-acre tract of land to the appellee city was submitted. The election resulted in a vote favorable to annexation. The county court, after a hearing, caused an order to be entered on December 31, 1968, granting the petition for annexation.
