No. 8153.

244 So.2d 263 (1970)

STATE of Louisiana, Through the DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS v. Hilarion McTEAGUE et ux.

Court of Appeal of Louisiana, First Circuit.

December 21, 1970.

Attorney(s) appearing for the Case

Johnie V. Branch and Philip K. Jones, Highway Dept., Baton Rouge, for appellant.

L. B. Ponder, Jr., of Ponder & Ponder, Amite, for appellees.

Before LANDRY, ELLIS and BLANCHE, JJ.

LANDRY, Judge.

Plaintiff (Department) takes this appeal from the judgment of the lower court awarding defendants, Mr. and Mrs. McTeague, compensation in the sum of $54,394.00 for the expropriation of defendants' property for highway purposes. The sole question before this court is the value of the property taken and the amount of severance damages, if any, to the noncontiguous parcels remaining after the taking.
