Petitioner was convicted of misdemeanor manslaughter under § 13-456, subsec. A, par. 3(b). The charge against petitioner was the result of an automobile accident which resulted in the death of Janice Logan. Prior to sentencing a mitigation hearing was held at which time petitioner, through his attorney, expressed his willingness to pay a reasonable amount to the parents of the deceased girl to help defray the expenses of their loss.
