OPINION

ZENOFF, Justice:

A 17-year-old boy was accused of committing forcible rape upon a 13-year-old girl. The Clark County District Attorney petitioned to have the minor boy tried as an adult pursuant to NRS 62.080. Under the authority of that statute, after a full investigation the court may in its discretion retain jurisdiction or certify the child for criminal proceedings as an adult. The court ordered that the boy's background and environment be investigated...
