On August 29, 1965, the plaintiff, Lila A. Fritsche, was a passenger in an automobile operated by her husband, Allen J. Fritsche. While stopped for a traffic light in North Plainfield, the vehicle was struck from the rear by an automobile owned by the defendant, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, and driven by its agent, the defendant, Jacob Benedetto.
