In October of 1967 Embry and Billie Whitlatch agreed to use a credit card purportedly issued to Edward F. Bumba for the purpose of making purchases of various goods from Standard Oil service stations and dividing the merchandise or selling it and dividing the profits. In December, 1967, they decided to come to Wisconsin for such "business" purpose. At the time Whitlatch had a 1967 Chevrolet station wagon which he had rented at the O'Hare International...
