Clitus Moorehead was charged with the February 4, 1968, unlawful and purposeful slaying of Rena Streitenberger while attempting to commit robbery. The defendant waived a trial by jury and, on November 20, 1968, he was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to die in the electric chair.
