On June 4, 1970, Ronald E. Peiffer was convicted by a jury of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating beverages. Thereafter, on June 11, 1970, defendant filed a motion in arrest of judgment or, in the alternative, a motion for a new trial.
