This is an appeal from an order which dismissed a post-conviction petition. In 1965 the defendant, Gary Lee Stoudt, was convicted of murder after a trial before a jury in the circuit court of Whiteside County, and was sentenced to imprisonment in the penitentiary for not less than 25 years nor more than 50 years.
