Haas Drilling Company filed this action against First National Bank in Dallas, based upon an alleged oral promise by the Bank, acting through its officer, to assume as its own debt and pay the note and account of another, B & B Gas Petroleum, Inc. The Bank filed an answer containing a general denial, special denials and the Statute of Frauds. Based upon a jury verdict the trial court rendered judgment for Haas.
