Richard Brand, doing business as Brand Plumbing and Heating, filed a four-count complaint against First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Fairbanks and others to foreclose mechanics' liens. In its answer, First Federal affirmatively alleged that as to every parcel the owners had given it promissory notes secured by deeds of trust.
