Ronald Silvia filed this law suit, stating causes of action in tort for false imprisonment and malicious prosecution. At the conclusion of the trial, the jury rendered its verdict awarding the plaintiff-appellant $10,000 as compensatory damages and $8,000 as punitive damages and a judgment was entered thereon.
