This case presents several questions concerning the procedure to be followed by Saint Elizabeths Hospital and the District Court when a patient involuntarily committed desires his release. The appellant here was committed to the hospital in 1964, after his acquittal on grounds of insanity of charges of murder and assault with intent to commit carnal knowledge.
