In November of 1964, ten of fourteen employees of J. M. Machinery Corporation (hereinafter Company) signed union authorization cards. On November 29, 1964, the Union's1 representative sent a letter to the Company asserting that the Union represented a majority of the Company's employees, requesting recognition, and offering to demonstrate majority status through a card check by a third party.
