WIDENER, District Judge.

This proceeding is a petition for a writ of habeas corpus filed in forma pauperis under the provisions of 28 U. S.C. § 2241 by William Mitchell Vaughn.

Petitioner was convicted in the Circuit Court of Halifax County, Virginia, on March 17, 1942, of second degree murder. He was sentenced to serve fifteen years in the penitentiary. Subsequent to two escapes, the petitioner was paroled on December 28, 1948...
