The plaintiffs, Mr. and Mrs. James Pitts, filed this suit against the defendant, the City of New Orleans, endeavoring to recover the sum of $5,172.50, representing damages for personal injuries and medical expenses which they assert were incurred as the result of the negligence of the defendant in failing to properly inspect and repair steps servicing a passenger bridge, the collapse of which caused Mrs. Pitts to sustain the injuries which form the subject...
