Appellant Lou D. Collins sustained fractures of both wrists in a "slip and fall" accident occurring in respondents' store. A jury returned a verdict in appellant's favor and awarded her damages in the amount of $37,136. Respondent moved for a new trial on several grounds and the trial court granted the new trial as to all issues on the ground of excessive damages unless appellant remitted $19,136 of the jury's award...
