Two individuals equally participated in a serious crime, but the charges against them and the sentences imposed were substantially unequal, which poses difficult issues involving constitutionally guaranteed equal protection of the laws for appellant accused and the limitations of judicial authority over the executive function of criminal prosecution, reaching well beyond this case.
