The defendant was charged with the commission of the crimes of grand larceny and resisting or obstructing an officer in the performance of his duty. The two charges were consolidated for trial, and the defendant was convicted in both cases. He appeals and claims the trial court committed prejudicial error in two particulars: (a) by refusing to charge on a lesser and included offense; (b) by not according the defendant a speedy trial.
