Defendants appeal a solidary jury verdict awarded plaintiff in the amount of $59,000.00 for personal injuries and damages sustained in an accident in which plaintiff was struck by a pick-up truck and received injuries to his right knee. Negligence of the truck driver, Townsend, is conceded. The issues before this court are (1) the alleged contributory negligence of plaintiff, and (2) the reputed excessiveness of the award.
