The appellants were convicted by a court, sitting without a jury, of knowingly presenting, directing, and participating in the presentation of an obscene, indecent, and filthy performance.1 Two officers of the Morals Division of the Metropolitan Police Department, in the company of two other officers, observed the performance of appellant Carroll at the Gayety Theatre.
