On February 14, 1967, defendant, aged 16 and an escapee from the State Training School at Red Wing, was convicted upon his plea of guilty of the offense of intentionally taking and driving a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner in violation of Minn.St. 609.55, subd. 2.
