The matter now before us is limited to the issue of the defendant-wife's right to permanent alimony.

Plaintiff-husband instituted suit in the Family Court for the Parish of East Baton Rouge for a divorce on the grounds that he and his wife had lived separate and apart since December 16, 1965 or for a period in excess of two years.
