Plaintiffs sue to recover the reasonable value of services rendered by them as attorneys to the defendant, a domiciliary of Illinois. Service of the summons and complaint was made on the defendant in Illinois. He moved to dismiss the complaint on the ground the court lacked jurisdiction over him.

The motion essentially was based on the allegations that the defendant, as a domiciliary of Illinois...
