This is an appeal from a judgment of the district court following a directed verdict for defendants at the close of plaintiffs' case.

On June 12, 1964, Michael Peckskamp, a 9-year-old boy, was run over at an intersection in St. Cloud, Minnesota, by a truck driven by defendant Michael Jon Nystrom and owned by defendants George J. McDowall and Grace A. McDowall, a partnership doing business as McDowall Company....
