Last year 15,938 children, 11,924 white and 4,014 black, attended the 32 schools in the ten wards comprising the St. Tammany Parish School System. Because six schools were all-Negro1 and five were all-white, this Court on February 6, 1969, ordered the school board to modify its plan for the 1969-70 school year and specifically ordered the elimination of the all-Negro schools for the coming...
