The defendants, Harold Sawyer and Sam Ehrenberg, were tried by jury in the circuit court of Cook County and found guilty of the crime of gambling. Sawyer was sentenced to the penitentiary for a term of not less than one year nor more than one year and one day and Ehrenberg was placed on probation for a period of five years.
