On April 10, 1963, plaintiff was given two shock treatments within a period of a few minutes by Dr. William Sorum, a psychiatrist. Plaintiff remained unconscious for about fifteen minutes after which she was in bed for about an hour. Then a lady attendant was in the process of leading her down a flight of six (as shown by the photographs) risers or stairsteps when plaintiff fell causing a fracture of her left ankle.
