In September of 1959, a jury in the circuit court of Cook County found the defendant, George Daugherty, guilty of taking indecent liberties with a child, and he was sentenced to the Illinois State Penitentiary for a term of not less than one year nor more than 15 years. That judgment is now before the court upon a writ of error, which has been consolidated with a writ of error to review...
