BRAILSFORD, Justice.

The defendant, Samuel L. Gilchrist, III, on April 4, 1964, in the City of Charleston, killed one Christopher Polite by shooting him repeatedly with a .38 caliber revolver. He was tried at the May, 1966, term of the Court of General Sessions, was convicted of manslaughter and was sentenced to serve a term of fifteen years. Gilchrist was represented at his trial by J. Louis Lempesis...
