Johnson was riding as a passenger on a bus owned and operated by the Dallas Transit System, a department of the City of Dallas, when he was shot and killed by Claudell Banks, another passenger. Ella Jackson, the widowed mother of the deceased, and Ethelene Johnson, the widow, individually, and as next friend of Willie Mae Johnson...
